There is good news for fans of South Indian superstar Sivakarthikeyan. His much-awaited film Parashakti has finally received a UA 16+ certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification.
With this approval, the road is now clear for the film’s theatrical release on January 10. The makers, Don Pictures, officially shared the update on social media, confirming the big relief for fans and the team.

CBFC Suggested 38 Cuts, Director Took a Strong Stand
Parashakti faced several obstacles before receiving clearance. Initially, the censor board suggested nearly 38 cuts, mainly related to scenes depicting the anti-Hindi student agitations of the 1960s.
The film, with a runtime of 162.43 minutes, is set against the historical backdrop of the 1965 student protests in Pollachi, which took place against the alleged imposition of Hindi.
According to industry sources, director Sudha Kongara strongly opposed any changes that would affect historical accuracy. She reportedly approached the Mumbai-based CBFC office and clearly stated that she would not compromise on facts.
Her firm stand played a key role in the film getting cleared without major cuts.
Big Pongal Release, Advance Booking Begins
Parashakti is seen as one of the big Pongal releases this year. After receiving the CBFC green signal, advance bookings have picked up quickly across platforms, including BookMyShow.
With its strong subject, historical backdrop, and Sivakarthikeyan in a powerful role, expectations from the film are extremely high.
Fans Ready for January 10
After weeks of uncertainty and controversy, Parashakti is now ready to hit the big screen. Fans are eagerly waiting to watch this bold and intense film during the festive Pongal season.
