Bollywood’s popular adult comedy franchise has hit a roadblock as Masti 4 faces legal trouble. A case has been filed in the Delhi High Court against the makers of the film, which stars Riteish Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi, and Aftab Shivdasani.

Influencer alleges misuse of viral reel
The case was filed by RJ and Instagram influencer Ashish Sharma, who claims that the film used content from his viral Instagram reel without his consent or proper credit.
According to Ashish, his reel titled “Shak Karne Ka Utsav”, which went viral in January 2024, appeared in Masti 4. RJ Tripti was also featured in the original reel. Ashish alleges that the filmmakers copied the content without permission.
Compensation and profit details demanded
Ashish Sharma has asked the producers for compensation for using his creative work illegally. He has also demanded a full disclosure of the film’s earnings linked to the alleged misuse.
Court issues notice to filmmakers
A bench led by Justice Tushar Rao Gedela heard the matter and issued a notice to the producers of Masti 4. The court has asked them to submit their response soon. The next hearing is scheduled for January 13, 2026.
Film already struggled at the box office
Directed by Milap Zaveri, Masti 4 released in theatres on November 21 last year. The film failed to impress audiences and performed poorly at the box office. Just as the makers were preparing for its OTT release, this legal dispute added to their troubles.
Masti 4 marks the fourth film in the Masti franchise, which began in 2004. While the first film was a big hit, the latest installment failed commercially and now faces legal challenges as well.
