The 74th Cannes Film Festival concluded with the awards ceremony on 17 July. In this award show, the jury awarded the best films of the year and the best performer at the Cannes Festival.
For the first time in the history of the film festival, the main international competition jury had more women than men.
Director Julia Ducornau was awarded the Palme d’Or for the film Titan. This film was released this year. Ducoranu has become the second female director ever to win the Palm d’Or award.
The previous one was won by Jane Campion for “The Piano” in 1993. This year’s jury had several films to choose from.
The list included new films from Leos Carrax, Wes Anderson, Julia DuKornau, Paul Verhoeven, Asghar Farhadi, Sean Baker and many more that were part of the competition at the festival.
